Dr. Kristin Anderson: Athletic Career

Dr. Anderson is an experienced professional athlete. She played for Houston Energy for 4 seasons from 2000 to 2003. Starting as a coach and 3rd string quarterback in 2000, she worked her way up to 2nd string in 2001, and starting QB and team captain in 2002 and 2003. Houston Energy won the Women’s Professional Football League (WPFL) Championship in 2000, 2001, 2002 during which time they went undefeated for 28 games. The first game of the 2003 season, Kristin took a hard hit that separated her right shoulder. Although she was able to rehab and come back for the final two games of the season, she ultimately needed reconstructive surgery to repair the damage.

Dr. A’s experience playing football is an example of succeeding in spite of the odds - in this case, being female, small, and older. She has also experienced what it is like to train very hard for many months, only to sit on the sidelines because of an injury. As is true of most obstacles, those challenges created opportunities for growth which enhanced her knowledge and strengthened her skills as a professional.
